Program 458

In 2013, two women found themselves disagreeing with the status quo in publishing—particularly as it impacted the romance genre. M.J. Rose is a New York Timesbest-selling author, advertising professional, and one of the founding members and former co-chair of International Thriller Writers (ITW). Liz Berry is ITW’s Executive Director, an editor, a self-proclaimed romance fan girl, and wife to #1 international bestselling author Steve Berry. These women know their way around the book world, and they decided to put their money, time, and effort into doing something to better it.They created 1,001 Dark Nights, a marketing concept utilizing romance novellas from bestselling authors as a conduit to reach new readers. Those books are cross-marketed to increase all of the brands, and simultaneously grow the reach and discovery of everyone involved.
